Children will have fun doing many experiments regarding the weather. They will talk about appropriate weather gear and they will make their own rainbows.
Classrooms will learn about Mexico and its culture and participate in celebrating Cinco de Mayo. They will learn Spanish words and have a siesta and a fiesta!
Children will immerse themselves in all the beauty of our world. They will explore diverse ways of helping the world by recycling paper and making their own solar oven. So much to explore!
Classes will explore butterflies and insects. They will learn about the cycle of the caterpillar and read the Very Hungry Caterpillar. They will go on a bug hunt, look at specimens and create fun art pieces.
Spring is here and we will enjoy springtime outside and create springtime inside. Children will learn about the cycle of the flower and the different ways they grow. They will use their art skills to create beautiful flower masterpieces as well as learning about the distinct parts of the flower.
Children will learn and practice cleaning and looking for crumbs as the first step to getting ready for Passover. They will learn science with the ten plagues and explore with frogs and sinking and floating. They will pretend to care for baby Moses, make their own pyramids and practice running as fast as they can. Children will make their own seder plate and learn about all the symbolic foods.
We will stomp like dinosaurs and make our own fossils. This will be a fun week of being a Paleontologist and learning about various kinds of dinosaurs.
Children will be able to touch, see and find different rocks, gems, and minerals. They will study them with magnifying glasses, dig them up in the ground, search for them on a nature walk, and sort them by colors, textures, and kinds. They will even get to paint their own rocks to create their own beautiful creations.
We love to read! This week we will share some of our favorite books and dive deep into stories. We may act out stories, put on puppet shows and draw some of our favorite book characters.
We will explore the holiday of Purim by dressing up every day this week. This will also help us show school spirit. We will hear the story of Queen Esther and pretend to be Kings and Queens. We will make crowns and noise makers and even explore with all the different triangle shapes. We may even bake and taste Hamantaschen cookies.
Children will learn the importance of taking care of their teeth. They will count teeth and talk about brushing and flossing. They will learn about the dentist and even do painting with toothbrushes.
Children will explore Chinese culture while learning about the Chinese New Year. They will immerse themselves in music, food, crafts, and the language. We will celebrate the year of the Ox as well as learn about other zodiac signs.
We will read stories about the ground hog and have fun chasing our shadows. We will make shadow
art and possibly make our own groundhog.
We will have a great time celebrating the holiday of Tu Bishvat. We will learn all about trees and what they do for us. We will eat and tell stories under the trees and taste different things that come from trees. We will create some nature artwork and do some planting.
Hibernating animals and teddy bears. This week we will learn about animals that hibernate in wintertime and we may also go on “Bear Hunt” and have a teddy bear picnic. We will learn a lot and have a lot of fun being silly and creative at the same time.
This week we will explore Winter with ice sculptures, “snow”, hats, mittens, and jackets. They will make beautiful snowflakes and winter wonderland artwork.
Happy New Year! Children will celebrate 2021 with hats, noise makers and a ball drop. They will also get an introduction to New Year's traditions from around the world.
